To drive a taxi for Checker Cab and Shuttle you must meet the following requirements;
1 You must be 24 years old with a clean driving record.
2 Must be able to pass the background check required for a “Vehicle for Hire Permit” from the City of Jacksonville. The cost of this permit is $50.00 If you already have a permit, the cost to transfer it to Checker Cab and Shuttle will be $25.00
3 Must meet company required uniform standard. Our company uniform is a pure white button down shirt, black dress pants and black shoes. In winter a black hat and black jacket with no logos is acceptable. In summer a short sleeve white button down shirt is acceptable.
4 No Smoking in the vehicles at any time.
5 Must do regular cleaning of the vehicle inside and out at least every other day.
6 Must have great people skills and give excellent customer service to all customers.
Dispatcher/ Calltaker
Qualified Candidate must fit the following criteria:
Must be able to handle multiple phone lines quickly
Must pay close attention to detail
Must be proficient in computers
Must be able to learn computer dispatch system quickly
Must be familiar with Jacksonville and surrounding areas
Must be personable and VERY FRIENDLY
Must be able to build relationships with customers over the phone
Must be able to remember repeat customers names
Must be able to handle some customer service issues
Must be able to work well with others
Must be punctual and reliable
Must be able to pass a drug screen
Bilingual a plus
We are a SMOKE FREE COMPANY and you will not be able to leave the workstation for frequent breaks. Pay is hourly with some overtime available The position is entry level into the taxi business. We are growing quickly and those who excel will earn advancement quickly. We will have Additional opportunities as the company grows. Willingness to rotate shifts is important.
